The Binghamton City School District is now seeking dedicated and reliable candidates to join our team as Custodian/Cleaners. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

This work involves the responsibility for the performance of routine cleaning duties in public and municipal buildings and facilities. Performs a variety of building maintenance and cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, waxing and buffing floors, vacuuming rugs, dusting furniture, washing walls and windows, and cleaning elevators and stairwells.

Typical Work Activities:

  • Performs specialized cleaning tasks varying with the district's needs.
  • Replenishes toilet supplies such as tissue and soap.
  • Empties wastebasket and collects and disposes of trash.
  • Clear snow, ice, sand, and salt sidewalks
  • Performs a variety of odd jobs, such as delivering messages, calling tradespeople to repair equipment, erecting directional barriers, and performing other skilled tasks.

Anticipated Groundskeeper for Athletics 26-272627-47

The Binghamton City School District is now seeking dedicated and reliable candidates to join our team as a Groundskeeper. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students and staff.

The Groundskeeper is directly responsible for ensuring all athletic spaces are clean, safe, and ready for use. 

Duties:

  • Facilities Readiness.
  • Maintenance and Grounds
  • Cleaning and Hygiene
  • Event Support.

Structure and Reporting:

To ensure clear lines of communication and efficiency, the role will operate under the following structure:

  • Direct reporting: The keeper reports to and takes direction from the Director of Athletics (AD).
  • Scheduling: A mandatory meeting with the AD will occur every Monday morning to receive the week's schedule and priorities.
  • Work Hours: The standard workday is eight hours. This schedule may be flexed as needed to ensure fields, gyms, and facilities are ready for daily events.
  • Technical Coordination: The keeper will coordinate with the maintenance department for equipment training, access to tools, and major repair needs.
  • Event Training: Will be trained by the Athletic Managers and the AD on specific event set-ups and facility requirements.
