The Binghamton City School District is seeking candidates to fill an anticipated Cook position for the 2025-2026 school year.

This is a full-time contractual position working 7 hours per day, 200 days per year. The work involves responsibility for preparing food on a moderate to large scale. Direct supervision is received from a Head Cook or other superior. Performs related duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking food items according to established menus and standardized recipes
Assisting with the serving and portioning of meals to students and staff
Maintaining proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Assisting with general kitchen operations and other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
Minimum of two (2) years of experience preparing and serving food
Study in a college or vocational institute in cooking, food service administration, or a similar field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Large-scale cooking is the preparation of a variety of meals requiring varying preparation techniques for service of groups of more than 50 people.
