The Binghamton City School District is seeking occasional van drivers to support student transportation needs. This position involves transporting students to and from school, as well as occasional midday trips, as needed. Applicants must be available for both morning and afternoon pickups. Typically, between 6:00 am and 9:00 am, and 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Although hours may vary

Additional Information:

  • This is a part-time, occasional position with flexible scheduling based on district needs.

Nurse for Medically Fragile Students2627-53

This is a professional nursing position in a public or private school. It involves responsibility for coordinating individual patient care and for performing nursing responsibilities requiring substantial specialized judgment and skills for medically fragile students. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Health Services and/or the Director of Special Services and in accordance with a prescribed nursing care plan. Perform related tasks as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs specialized physical health care services, including but not limited to intermittent catheterization, injections, suctions, gavage feeding, and drainage.
  • Assists with physical development and physical activities such as personal hygiene (i.e., feeding, grooming, toileting).
  • Responds appropriately to the medical needs and emergencies of the student.
  • Implements health maintenance plan to meet students’ needs.
  • Administers medications as prescribed.
  • Promotes and protects the optimal health and well-being of the student.
  • Provides optimal health assessment, including but not limited to health and development history, observation of child development and health patterns through nursing assessment and diagnoses.
  • Performs additional routine nursing responsibilities.
  • Communicates and interprets the health status of the student to parents/guardian and school personnel as required.
  • Provides ongoing health counseling with students, parents/guardians, school personnel, and health agencies as required.
  • Uses existing health resources to provide appropriate care for students.
  • Maintains, evaluates, and interprets cumulative health data to accommodate the individual needs of students.
  • Participates as the health team specialist on the child education evaluations team to develop the Individual Education Plan (IEP)
